EC and ESF projects of interest to astrobiology

  1. CAREX, EC project in FP7
(Coordination Action for Research Activities on life in Extreme Environments) that tackles the issues of enhancing coordination of research on life in extreme environments in Europe by providing networking and exchange of knowledge opportunities to the scientific community and by developing a strategic European research agenda in the field:

  2. COST Project in FP7
"The Chemical Cosmos; Understanding Chemistry in Astronomical Environments".
This COST action ended in April 2013. Point of contact is Nigel Mason.

  3. AstRoMap
AstRoMap is supported by the European Commission under FP7. This project is implemented by a consortium of five partners (INTA-CAB, B-USOC, DLR, ESF and INAF). The project intends to provide a networking and foresight platform for the European scientific community involved or interested in astrobiology and planetary exploration research.

  4. COST Life-ORIGINS
Life-ORIGINS (TD1308) is a Trans Domain European COST Action investigating the origins and evolution of life.
It started May 2014 and will run for four years. For questions please contact the action chair Dr. Muriel Gargaud (Muriel.Gargaud (at) obs.u-bordeaux1.fr).
