It is situated in the center of Madrid. It is managed by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
The museum traces back its origin to the Real Gabinete de Historia Natural, created in 1771 by Charles III. A great museum to visit. The museum contains different types of fossils, skeletons of the dinosaurs and the big mammals. It also contains a very interesting exhibition of human evolution. Moreover, you can find a large collection of minerals.
