Join us for an exclusive, free tour of the Lisbon Astronomical Observatory (Tapada da Ajuda, 1349-018 Lisboa, Portugal, https://oal.ul.pt/), a historical gem and centre of scientific excellence. Situated in a picturesque setting overlooking the city of Lisbon, the observatory offers a unique glimpse into the past of astronomy.

During this exclusive tour, you will explore the 19th-century architecture of the building, learn about Portugal's contributions to space science at the time, and get to see the original telescopes and instruments used by astronomers for decades.

The Lisbon Astronomical Observatory is located within Tapada da Ajuda, in the southwest part of Lisbon, with the entrance on Calçada da Tapada. From the conference venue,

i) we advise you to take an UBER/BOLT to get directly into the Lisbon Astronomical Observatory (it will take around 20 minutes, and it will cost around 8€ for 4 people).

ii) Alternatively, you may take public transportation from the conference venue (it will take around 50 minutes): take bus 742 (get out at stop Rua Alcântara) or bus 720 (get out at stop Calvário) and walk to Calçada da Tapada. From there, the route until the Lisbon Astronomical Observatory is always uphill and is about a 15-minute walk.
