Astroscience Education: The Way Forward on the African Continent

Sohan Jheeta
NoRCEL, UK

It ought to be a universal acknowledgement that astroscience on the African Continent is somewhat little to none existent. A fact realised and experienced, since 2015, by the members of NoRCEL—a Network of Researchers on the Chemical Emergence of Life. We at NoRCEL also know that young African, armed with the iPhone and aneroids mobile phones, are aware that careers are being forged. Our research also show that these very young Africans are seeking to construct their future in these frontiers of science; but are there any opportunities available for these boys and girls of the Arican nations? We aim to demonstrate that astroscience subjects being taught are by far and few and that job opportunities are equally sparse. In this poster we aim to bring forward the associated dilemmas.
